Description

Wandering Encounters are similar to World Events. However, unlike World Events, which are broadcast to all players in a zone, Wandering Encounters are only broadcast to players in the immediate vicinity and are designed for small groups of players or individuals. Also unlike most World Events, most Wandering Encounters can be spawned anywhere in the world and are spawned specifically for a certain player. However, XP and resource rewards are generally lower for Wandering Encounters than for World Events due to their shorter duration.

Some Wandering Encounters have a small chance of spawning a Motherload where the amount of loot is much more.

Coral Forest Wandering Encounters

Bandit Cache

A player may come across a small randomly placed Bandit encampment consisting of a fire, several Bandit Watchmen, supply crates, and awnings. Upon approaching the encampment, the watchmen will activate a beacon, causing more bandits to teleport in and attack the player. After several waves, a bandit leader will teleport in and drop a datapad when killed. The datapad can be picked up and used to unlock the various supply crates scattered around the camp in order to claim the encounter's reward.

Civilian Rescue

Rescue the captured civilians from the Bandits.

Crystite Meteorite

Occasionally at night, players can hear and see a meteorite fall from the sky.

about the actual encounter.

Distress Beacon

A player may come across an Accord supply crate marked with a distress beacon. Upon interacting with the crate, the player will be thrown into the air and briefly disabled while bandits spawn and begin to run from the crate's location. Killing these bandits causes them to drop stolen supplies that the player can interact with to claim their reward for the encounter.

Distress Call

A player can come across a bandit encampment full of bandits, Bandit Hound, and caged civilians. Upon clearing the area, the player can interact with the cages to release the civilians, who drop Crystite rewards upon reaching the center of the encampment as a reward. This wandering encounter can only be found at two locations near Broken Shores and Nutretic Processing.

An alternative encounter can happen on the top of the mountain near Sunken Harbor. The encounter is the same, except that Pirates replace the bandits and there are no bandit hounds. Additionally, there can be VIPs that drop a larger reward than the normal civilians.

LGV Ambush

While driving on an LGV, a player may come across several destroyed LGVs, a single Anti-LGV mine, which will instantly destroy the player's LGV if driven over and a hostage. Upon approaching the site, either on foot or on LGV, multiple bandits teleport in and attack the player and the hostage. Upon killing all bandits, the player gains access to a nearby crate that holds the encounter's reward. If the hostage is still alive at this point the player will receive double of the base amount of rewards (the hostage being alive or dead doesn't influence the chance of a Motherload however).

LGV Riding Challenge

While driving on an LGV, a player may come across a large number of Anti-LGV mines that do not detonate immediately, allowing a fast moving LGV to pass over them unharmed. If the player crosses from one side to the other on an LGV, they receive a small XP reward. This encounter is only available in several narrow areas around Coral Forest.

Piñata Frenzy

Players may find a crashed MGV with around 5 to 6 Loot Pinatas around it. Once the player approaches the MGV, the Loot Pinatas will run away (although they tend to stay in the area). As always, loot that drops when the Pinata is destroyed can be picked up by any player.

Super Bugs (Aranha)

A player may occasionally hear a loud rumbling and receive a marker towards a normal looking Aranha nest. Upon causing the nest to burst, Kalidor the Giant spawns and attacks the player. The player receives his or her reward after killing Kalidor.

Super Bugs (Culex)

A player may occasionally hear a loud rumbling and receive a marker towards a normal looking Culex hive. Upon killing the Culexes that spawn from it, Akreatrix the Untame will spawn and attack the player. The player receives his or her reward after killing Akreatrix.

Super Bugs (Sandshark)

A player may occasionally hear a loud rumbling and receive a marker towards a normal looking Resource Deposit. Upon destroying the deposit, Vomica the Noxious spawns and attacks the player. The player receives his or her reward after killing Vomica.

The Birds

A player may occasionally come across a small group of Storm Kestrel nests surrounded by Territorial Storm Kestrels. The player may interact with the nests to destroy them and receive their reward, but the surrounding storm kestrels will repeatedly attack while doing so.

Wounded Bandit

A player may occasionally come across a bandit calling for help. Upon nearing him, he asks for some medical supplies and the player receives a marker pointing towards nearby supplies. Upon bringing the supplies to the bandit, he shields himself and calls Big Brother to teleport in. Upon killing Big Brother, the bandit panics and gives the player the location of stolen supplies in exchange for letting him live. After this, the player may kill the bandit without consequence, and can interact with the crate to receive their reward. Note that sometimes the bandit has lied and the player only receives XP.
