1.1 Update Moved
Is there a time table on an update to the main page and side bar along with a bit of cleaning up some of the pages, for post update 1.1. If possible setup and re-categorize, and maybe setup an RSS feed for NEWS, Updates, or/and Dev tracker to keep that up-to-date. CryptisMidnight (talk) 09:30, 7 October 2014 (EDT)
This is front-end business, so Polarity and I are the ones you should be talking to about this business. Al Gilman's the guy we refer problems to if we can't solve them from the front-end, and since he's busy with other stuff, we try to reduce the number of problems he has to deal with.
Any of the admins can edit the sidebar links. Polarity is more of the content guy now, so he's the best bet for getting content- and display-related things done. If he doesn't respond to a talk page request within a few days, feel free to post on my talk page about it.
If you want an RSS feed for stuff on the forums, you need to make sure R5 has support for it, in the form of an RSS feed link or an API on their end. We can't display data if we can't fetch data. I'm fairly sure it would require an extension to be installed as well; if you can verify that R5 has their end set up to transmit data, we can then get our end set up to receive data by installing extensions.
Also, please sign your comments. Four tildes (like this: ~~~~) will do the trick.

To address the RSS feeds i currently have 2 http://forums.firefall.com/community/devtracker/posts.rss for Dev tracking and for Updates/News(non-hotfix) http://steamcommunity.com/games/227700/rss/ CryptisMidnight (talk) 09:30, 7 October 2014 (EDT)
Just looking at the feeds, the Steam Community feed looks like a good source, but the pictures on it may be problematic since they're rather large. The RSS feed is probably not going to occupy a lot of space on the front page, so we'd have to strip the pictures out or reduce their size (which I'm not sure we can do). I'm also worried about this source as a whole: it appears to be controlled by Valve/Steam, which means that they may insert news and articles from sources other than R5.
The DevTracker feed is definitely easier to handle, but I'm not sure it's a great data source. It contains everything that any of the devs say, which means it could contain some ramblings about stuff that isn't game-related. It's up to the community as a whole to decide which feed(s) to use.
The extension we'll need is Extension:RSS (unless you can find a better one). Before we actually get things rolling and ask Al Gilman to install the extension, you may want to get consensus on whether formatting and displaying RSS feeds are a good idea, since other editors may think something else is a better use of precious front page space. A forum thread or talk page discussion are ways to reach consensus.
Polarity seems to have taken the lead on content and formatting, so honestly he's the better person to ask about this stuff.

re: re: Template:Weapon changes
Hi! Thanks for addressing me on this matter. I am actually on the process of updating all weapons I can. Once I finish, please tell me what you think. About the broken template, I'm not really sure how to take the links off (like ammo, magazine size and such are being made links in red), so if you could help me or teach me how to modify it, that'd be awesome.
- EDIT: I finished all primary and secondary weapons, and also fixed the broken links issue by creating new Type pages. Tell me what you think. I'll continue with perks tomorrow, maybe. I really want this wiki to be useful for new players. -- ZPPHR (talk) 02:11, 17 March 2015 (EDT)
Captcha On Page Edit
Is there a way you could add a list of verified editors so that they don't have to enter a captcha every time they edit a page? I understand having it for spam purposes, but it's making bulk-editing pages annoying >< Weableandbob (talk) 17:42, 22 March 2015 (EDT)
