Battleframe pages

  • What templates should be used on the pages ? The BattleframeClass or BattleframeBox template ? Class uses Unknow.jpg for every single picture used in it Oo
I'm looking into this at the moment. Will be back with an answer soon. Also, please sign talk page comments so we know who's asking without digging into the history feature. - lycan.nick (talk) 01:52, 15 January 2013 (EST)
Okay, after looking at both templates, Template:BattleframeClass is designed to standardize the content of class pages like Assault, Recon, Biotech, Engineer, and Dreadnaught. Template:BattleframeBox generates the box description for each frame type. I've written documentation for Template:BattleframeBox so you can see how to use it. As I don't know what you're going to be using the templates for, I leave it to you to decide. As for using File:Unknown.jpg, we should now be using Template:ImageNeeded with the necessary image formatting markup. - lycan.nick (talk) 02:49, 15 January 2013 (EST)
Ok thanks! Had a question ... answered myself. But !!! Im close to a braindamage: we have TWO techtree templates (NavBarBattleframe and TechTree), plus BattleframeBox/Class dont use the same, causing an endless redirect and weird selflinks through name linking with an already fixed name infront of <<<name>>> for tier 1.

If you see some tries from my side with the templates dont wonder. - Minosha (talk) 22:15, 15 January 2013 (GMT+1)

Ah and i forgot ! Energy seems to be 600 (from the screenshots XML file) base for all classes... can i input that somewhere ? - Minosha (talk) 18:20, 15 January 2013 (GMT+1)
MrFunsocks' templates are annoying because they either lack documentation or are complex to use/debug/understand. I'll do my best to answer your questions about them, but I personally think a great deal of them should be deleted or remade into something much easier to use. As for energy information, use the energy= field in Template:BattleframeBox. - lycan.nick (talk) 17:37, 15 January 2013 (EST)
Will take care of the single frame pages this week - Minosha (talk) 4:00, 16 January 2013 (GMT+1)

Some new info! seems to suggest that it's possible to unlock later tiers by only traversing one branch. - lycan.nick (talk) 18:21, 31 January 2013 (EST)

Yeah, dev post confirms that. Looks like they're still testing it out and soliciting feedback tho, so we'll see if it sticks. For now, if there's a good place to mention it on the page, go for it =] -Thaewyn (talk) 00:02, 1 February 2013 (EST)

New Content

How should we go about re-doing the various battleframe pages now that there aren't tiers? We could move the pages, eg. Assault/Tier 2/Firecat > Firecat, but since pretty much all the information is out of date now, would it just be better to create new pages and delete the old ones? Weableandbob (talk) 21:04, 25 March 2013 (EDT)

Make them as direct descendants of whatever frame type they are. For example, Firecat should no longer be Assault/Tier 2/Firecat, but it's still correct to do Assault/Firecat. As for where to put the edits... We need to leave a redirect on the old pages so that links pointing to the old articles get redirected to the new ones. Moving articles generates the redirects automatically, so if you don't have move permissions, slap {{Move}} tags on 'em and it'll go into Category:Wiki Maintenance for other editors to see. If you do have move permissions, go ahead and move the pages. - lycan.nick (talk) 17:45, 26 March 2013 (EDT)
Still need to be moved Weableandbob (talk) 13:47, 6 April 2013 (EDT)

Run Speed

Is there any good way to figure out the base run speed for the different frames? Ingame, it says they're all 4.25 m/s, but that's obviously false since there's run speed differences. Weableandbob (talk) 00:41, 8 April 2013 (EDT)

Multiple Frames

There are pages for both 'Accord' frames and 'Tier 1' frames, which have similar information. Which should we move to 'Class/Accord Class' and which should we delete? Weableandbob (talk) 12:45, 8 April 2013 (EDT)

The 'tier' information should be deprecated. It's good historical info for how the game used to be, but it'll probably be deleted eventually. The 'Accord' page should really get a disambiguation page, because it refers to both the faction in the lore, and the manufacturer. In this use, 'Accord' should go up alongside 'Omnidyne' and 'Kisuton'. This whole category really needs an overhaul since we're done with tiers... -Thaewyn (talk) 16:01, 8 April 2013 (EDT)
Ok, I'm getting confused by what's being linked to what page. Should we plan on moving all the 'Accord <Insert Class>' pages to '<Class>/Accord <Class>' like it's set up to be right now and then creating new pages for each overall class? Right now, something linking to 'Assault' links to 'Accord Assault', while it seems like each class should have its own page. Weableandbob (talk) 00:09, 9 April 2013 (EDT)

Updates to make

Just a reminder for myself (or anyone who'd like to contribute) to better organize the page now that it's a link on the side. Providing links to parts of gear and cleaning up the page in general. Any help or suggestions would be great! Copain (talk) 08:34, 11 August 2013 (EDT)

I've done a basic run through right now. I'll look more at editing it after feedback. Tell me your opinion when you can. Tnargraef (talk) 15:28, 11 August 2013 (EDT)
