Slash Commands

Slash Commands are commands you start by typing a forward-slash [ / ] and a word, possibly followed by more information. These commands perform social functions, modify chat or make your character do interesting things. Some commands are shortcuts for functions already accessible through menus, but other commands (like emotes) are not possible any other way.


Legend

  • Abbreviated forms of the same command are shown in boldface.
  • An ellipsis () means the command requires additional information; hover over an ellipsis for more info.
    • Where you see player, type the name of the other player.
    • Where you see message is where you begin typing the intended message.
  • Note that certain chat commands will activate by pressing Spacebar or Enter. (details below)
  • Also note that pressing the forward-slash key in-game (same key as a question mark -> ? ) will automatically begin the command in chat; no need to press Enter before it.


Game System Commands

/logout Takes you back to the character screen, but your account remains logged-in
/exit Leaves the game and logs you out

Troubleshooting

/rui
/reloadui
Reloads the "SIN" screen overlay, also known as the UI (User Interface) or HUD (Heads Up Display)
/stuck
/unstuck
Starts a timer that will perform a 'suicide' after 5 seconds of inactivity.
(When your character dies this way, your equipment is damaged for 10%)
/bug Displays the Submit Bug dialog, where you can provide detailed information about the problem.
/showping Shows a tiny display of your ping (i.e., network latency) in the upper-left corner of the screen
/showfps Shows your real-time Frames Per Second performance as a number on the screen
/debug_hud (Command Console) Runs the hudmanager script and shows the results
/debug_reticle (Command Console) Runs the reticle script and shows the results
/net_graph Displays a graphical network diagnostic tool.

Miscellaneous Commands

/help A brief list of helpful commands
/afk message Enables the Away From Keyboard mode; The message part is optional, appearing as an automatic reply while you are away. (default message is: "player is AFK.")


Chat Commands

The chat area in Firefall is mouse-interactive, which lets you to point-and-click for some chat functions.
Commands that appear in green are available through a mouse menu by clicking on a player's name in the chat area.
Commands in blue are triggered by pressing either Enter or Spacebar after the command.
/tab Change to next chat tab (out of four)

Join your Army Chat channel, broadcast to your entire army
/o Send messages just to officers

Join your Squad Chat channel, broadcast among your squadmates

Join your Team Chat (PvP only), broadcast to your own team

Join Zone Chat (default at login), broadcast to the whole shard

Messages appear only to players within a 50m radius, like a conversation
From the Copacabana SIN tower, everyone at Luau Larry's Red Bean shop could hear you, but nobody at the Copacabana Army Station could.

Messages appear only to players within a 150m radius, like yelling or shouting
From the Copacabana SIN tower, everyone within Copacabana could hear you, but nobody at Praia Tropical Watchtower could.

Sends message directly to player (if they are currently online)
/r Automatically begins a reply to last whisper message (hotkey sequence, activates instantly)

Aliases

Aliases are special chat codes that start with a semi-colon.
A special link will appear in chat where other players can interact with your message.
;loc Links to your current location, shown as map coordinates.
Other players can use the link to set a waypoint
;pos Same functionality as ;loc.
Used by players who have set their interface to the German-language.
;wp Links to your current waypoint, shown as map coordinates.
Other players can use the link to set a waypoint
;swp (Squad only) Links to your current squad waypoint, shown as map coordinates.
Other players can use the link to set a waypoint

Squad Commands

/inv
/invite player
Sends player an invitation to join your squad (Squad Leader only)
Squad member can invite player to join and Squad Leader will receive a notification that send an invitation to player or not.
/accept Accept an incoming squad invite (same as pressing "N" and left-clicking, with default keybind)
/decline Decline an incoming squad invite (same as pressing "N" and right-clicking, with default keybind)
/leave Leave your squad immediately
/kick player Kicks player out of your squad immediately (Squad Leader only)
/promote player Promotes player to become the new Squad Leader (Squad Leader only)
/joinleader Changes your instance/shard to the same as the Squad Leader (useful if you receive /invite from friends you can't see)


Friends & Social commands

/lfg Adds you to the "Looking for a Squad" queue
/friend player Sends a friend request to player
/unfriend player Removes player from your friend list
/acceptfriend Accepts a friend request, adding them to your friends list
/declinefriend Declines a friend request
/ignore player Adds player to your 'blacklist' (hides their chat messages, auto-declines invites/duels)
/unignore player Removes player from your ignore list (shows their chat messages once again)
/listignore Displays your personal ignore list
/clearignore Removes all entries from the ignore list (like using /unignore on all players)


Emote Commands

These make your character perform special actions in the game world, visible to other players.
/bask You spread arms wide and throw your head back, ready to bask in your own glory, speaking a proud remark
/calm You assume a calm stance (same animation as when other players use stations, like garage or printer)
/charge You point in front of you, declaring action!
/cheer You cheer on your comrades!
/chicken You cluck like a chicken!
/cry You hide your face in your hands and weep.
/dance You do a little dance and (usually) sing a little song.
/fear You tremble in fear!
/joke You tell a joke.
/laugh You laugh!
/no You shake your head, saying "No."
/roar You roar with bestial vigor!
/salute You stand at attention and salute.
/sit_chair You sit down, as if on a chair or bench directly behind you (otherwise, you sit in mid air)
/surprise You act surprised!
/taunt You assault the honor of someone in front of you.
/tikidance You do the same dance as you would if someone dropped a tiki torch near you.
/tired You look tired.
/utility You lean forward and tinker with stuff.
/wave You issue a friendly wave!
/townstand1 You strike a proud pose with your chest raised.
/townstand2 You strike a relaxed pose.
/townstand3 You strike a proud pose.
/townstand4 You strike a stern pose with arms crossed.
/townstand5 You strike a relaxed pose with both arms at your sides.
